Saturday, February 2nd, the Mecklenburg County Council of the Boy Scouts of America will go Scouting for Food. Scouts will go door-to-door in neighborhoods throughout Mecklenburg County collecting non-perishable food items for Loaves & Fishes. Last year’s Scouting for Food drive collected 245,000 pounds of food to help feed hungry neighbors in need.
Saturday, February 2nd, Mecklenburg Co. Council Boy Scouts will be on hand from 9am – 3pm at the Arboretum collecting food donations. Just look for collection trucks parked at the top of the parking lot along Hwy. 51. across from Harris Teeter.
Also, food collection barrels will be located inside the Arboretum Harris Teeter store Saturday, February 2 through Sunday, February 10.
Help Loaves & Fishes fight hunger in our community! Most needed items include canned fruit (no sugar added), canned meats, pastas, cereal and no salt or low sodium canned vegetables.
